Textile Printing Binders

Textile printing binders, also referred to as water based resin binders, are one of the most essential components in textile pigment printing formulations. Their main function is to bind pigment colours to the fabric, ensuring strong adhesion and colourfastness after drying and curing. When applied, the binder forms a flexible, continuous film that locks the pigment onto the fabric surface and provides essential performance features such as durability, wash resistance, soft hand feel, and elasticity. Without a proper binder system, the pigments would not properly adhere to textiles and would wash off or fade quickly. The type and quality of binder used directly affect the print durability, print finish durability, print softness & flexibility, print colour brilliancy and vibrancy, as well as longevity of the printed fabric, making binders a critical factor in both fashion textiles and industrial fabric printing.
