Textile Process Emulsions

Textile Process Emulsions Textile process emulsions, also referred to as water based resin emulsions or hardeners as a common term, are essential components in fabric / textile/ suiting’s/ dress materials processing and finishing formulations. Their primary function is to bind the fabric by forming a hard semi-permanent coating type finishing to the fabric / textile, ensuring strong adhesion and long-lasting colour fastness, feel and body after drying and curing. Once applied, these emulsions form a hard but flexible, continuous film over the fabric surface, locking in yarn while providing key performance attributes such as: Durability Wash Resistance Soft hand feel & bounce. Without these emulsions the feel and interlocking of the yarn would not properly adhere to the fabric, leading to rapid fading or washout. The type and quality of the emulsion used directly impact the fabric’s appearance, flexibility, colour vibrancy, and overall longevity. This makes them a critical element in both fashion textiles and industrial textile finishing processes.
